CardioPep Pharma GmbH is an affiliate of Pharis Biotec GmbH. Both companies have their headquarters in Hannover, Germany. Pharis Biotec GmbH develops and commercializes proprietary discoveries in the field of peptide biology for application in pharmaceutical, clinical and diagnostic development.

Aim of CardioPep Pharma GmbH is the development of the endogenous natriuretic peptide URODILATIN (INN: Ularitide) for therapy of decompensated congestive heart failure (CHF), and for other indications. Based on a specific profile of diuretic, natriuretic, vasodilative, and bronchodilatory properties, URODILATIN is considered highly suitable for treating patients with decompensated CHF.

Decompensated CHF is a serious medical condition in which the heart is unable to maintain adequate circulation of blood in the tissues of the body or to pump out the venous blood returned to it by the venous circulation.

URODILATIN has been shown to influence cardiovascular organ functions in a beneficial manner. The actual state-of-the-art in the treatment of decompensated CHF is hitherto still challenging since morbidity and mortality are extremely high.
